Tomato Cage Fall Decoration -- Trees :)

While surfing Pinterest last year, I came across some really neat ideas for tomato cages.  One of my favorite projects were the fall trees that people used for decorations on their porches.  Here's an example:

So, I decided to try it myself -- and I included some lights as well.  Check it out!  The first picture is from last year.  Then the second one is from this year.  I bought a second tomato cage and did the same thing to frame my door.  This project is super easy and cute.

Pumpkin Topiary for $3!

I love looking at all of the fall decor on Pinterest.  A couple years ago, I decided to copy one of the things I kept seeing on there: pumpkin topiaries!  Who doesn't love pumpkins, especially when they are stacked on top of each other?!

For this project you need....

3 pumpkins from the Dollar Tree
1 Dowell rod
Paint

Take your pumpkins and figure out which one you want on the top.  For the other three, go ahead and pop off the stems.

Paint your pumpkins however you like.  We decided to use letters and spell out BOO.

Then, take your Dowell rod and poke a hole through two of the pumpkins (all the way).  This is easy with the pumpkins from the Dollar Tree because they are hollow.

Then, find something to stick your rod in.  I had an empty vase that I used and decorated it with a fall bow.

Anyone else made these with larger punpkins?  I would love to see how your topiaries turn out. Happy crafting!
